CSR Award takes centre stage
All is now set for the grand finale of The SERAs, otherwise known as the Nigeria CSR Awards.
The annual ceremony, which has grown to become the epicenter of corporate social responsibility (CSR) industry in Nigeria is organised to recognize the contributions of the most socially responsible organizations doing businesses in Nigeria .
In a statement issued by the organiser, it was revealed that a total number of 64 entries were submitted this year and the verification of entries and projects took place from July to August, 2014.
Among those to be honoured in this year edition are; the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr.Emmanuel Uduaghan; the wife of the Cross River state Governor,Mrs. Obioma Liyel Imoke; Managing Director, Olam Nigeria, Mr Mukul Mathur; and Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Mr Tony Elumelu.
In his remark, the Chief Responsibility Officer and Founder of CSR Nigeria and the SERAs, Mr Ken Egbas said:“this year is exciting for us as we embark on our 8th year and I would always equate the number eight to infinity. This is the start of more meaningful engagement of SERAs and all organizations that are giving back to the society. We have already set a standard in the industry and we strive to be better annually”.
Nineteen organizations made the final nominees list across twenty categories, some of which include;Nigerian Breweries, Shell, Exxon Mobil, Airtel, Fidelity Bank,
