Pregnant US teen wounded in Mexico police shooting

Mexican police opened fire on a pickup truck that defied orders to stop, and ended up hitting a pregnant US teenager inside the vehicle, authorities said Monday.
Both the girl and the baby are out of danger, said prosecutors in northern Tamaulipas state, which borders the United States.
On Sunday night the truck was leaving a parking lot near a bridge that leads to Texas when a police patrol ordered the truck to stop.

Instead the driver sped away and police opened fire to shoot out the tires. The 14-year-old pregnant American was hit but not seriously hurt, police said.
