Nigerian soldier cured of disease

The officer, a UN peacekeeper, was taken to the Netherlands for treatment after he got infected and is now free of the deadly disease.

Nigerian soldier who contracted Ebola in Liberia has been cured of the disease, authorities say.
The officer, a UN peacekeeper, was taken to the Netherlandsfor treatment after he got infected and is now free of the deadly disease.
The diagnosis was announced by the Dutch public health institute, RIVM on Friday, December 19.
“The Nigerian patient who was admitted on December 6 has been cured of Ebola,”  the institute said in a statement.
The soldier received care at the university hospital in Utrecht and was Ebola patient to be treated in the Netherlands.
He is expected to remain at the hospital until he can return home to Nigeria. The country was declared Ebola-free on October 20.
