I'm A Celebrity 2014: Craig Charles set to quit show following brother's sudden death

The Coronation Street star was told the sad news about his brother's death by producers of the ITV show

Craig Charles is set to quit the I'm A Celebrity - after being told his brother Dean has died.
Corrie star Craig, 50, was being informed of the death once he woke up on Thursday morning in Australia, late night UK time.

Bosses would then let him decide if he wants to head for the exit to be with his family.
Former Merseyside police officer Dean, 52, died of a heart attack on Tuesday evening. He used to live in Spain where he opened a bar called Lister’s — after his brother’s character in TV’s Red Dwarf, before moving to Cardiff
Ex-wife Karen Shaw, 52, who had two children with Dean, said: “It’s a shock. He was always fit and healthy.”
She added: “Craig will have to leave the jungle after this.”
Since entering the jungle dad-of-three Craig has been locked in the Celebrity Slammer with limited food. Last night a spokeswoman for his wife Jackie said it was a “very difficult time for the family”.
A TV source said: “Losing Craig and Gemma in the space of 48 hours would be a nightmare for ITV.”
A show source said: "We took the decision not to shock him and wake him in middle of the night and will inform him of the sad news when he wakes up.
"He will be allowed to do exactly what he wishes."

The death of his older brother was the reason Craig was exempt and his number was not included in the phonelines for the latest Bushtucker trial The Terror Tavern.
Craig arrived in Australia on November 9 ahead of the ITV show, which kicked off on Sunday (November 16).
Former King of the Jungle Kian Egan later tweeted saying: "This is so sad."
