Mubi attack: NEMA to establish more IDP camps in Yola

Following the insurgents’ attacks in Mubi, Adamawa State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has concluded plans to open more camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yola.
The agency’s spokesperson, Malam Sani Datti, disclosed the plan in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Friday, saying that the plan was in response to the rising number of IDPs from Mubi and other communities in Adamawa. He added that many residents from Mubi and Uba had fled to Yola following the attacks.

He said the Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi, had dispatched search and rescue teams to Adamawa to help.
“The team is to assess and provide additional camps for emergency relief,” Datti said, adding that some workers of the North-East Zonal office of NEMA would move to Yola to cater for the affected.
