NIGERIA HOST BRAZIL MARCH 29 IN UYO

Nigeria have arranged a high-profile friendly against five-time world champions Brazil on March 29 at the brand-new Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo.

“I have been directed by the NFF to tell you that Brazil will field the full complement of its stars for the match, including Barcelona star Neymar,” announced Akwa Ibom Governor Godswill Akpabio at the opening of the Akwa Ibom Stadium on Friday night.

The ultra-modern Akwa Ibom Stadium will on Wednesday, November 19, play host to a final AFCON 2015 qualifier between Nigeria and South Africa.

Nigeria hosted 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil in 2003 with the South Americans running away 3-0 winners in Abuja.

In 2011, Nigeria thrashed two-time world champions Argentina 4-1 in another high-profile friendly in Abuja.

NFF president Amaju Pinnick also announced the federation plan several other top friendlies for the Super Eagles with Ukraine and Serbia among the teams being considered.
