Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro is expected to officially declare his Lagos governorship bid on Thursday, November 27.

Obanikoro resigned from President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet on October 15 in order to contest for Lagos’ number one position on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The declaration date was revealed via a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media Strategy, Ohimai Amaize.
It reads:
“Senator Obanikoro is ready to unveil his plans of a Greater Lagos for the people of Lagos State, come November 27.”
Senator Obanikoro has answered the call of his people to rescue Lagos State from political and economic bondage and we are very confident that based on his overwhelming goodwill among the people of Lagos, especially the downtrodden masses, as well as his impeccable record in public service, he is the best prepared for the job.”
Obanikoro had earlier stated that he was the only one who could rescue Lagos from the 16-year rule of former governor, Bola Tinubu.
