Presidential
Reception Postponed
Goodluck Jonathan Won't Be Hosting The Victorious Super Falcons
The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan won't be hosting the
victorious Super Falcons today (Wednesday 5th November, 2014), SL10 gathered
from sources close to the State House.
The event to celebrate the 7th African Women's Championship
success of the senior national side has been postponed until further notice.
Reasons for the postponement wasn't revealed to SL10 as at Press
Time, but SL10 sources scooped from a top official of the Nigeria Football
Federation (NFF) that his Excellency will certainly bless the ladies with cash
incentives and possibly some other rewards.
Nigeria has a long tradition of women football success in Africa
and beyond, that was the reason the number one citizen in Nigeria wants
to encourage the girls to do more for the nation.
The Nigerian national women’s team had been billed to have a
dinner with President Jonathan at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock on
29th October 2014, but President Jonathan only received the trophy the
team won at the just concluded African Women's Championship held in Namibia.
As a result of their victory, the Nigerian team, along with
second and third-place teams, Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire, will represent Africa
at the 2015 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Canada.
