Tinubu, Solomon, Ashafa are failed lawmakers, says Akele

National General Secretary of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Ayodele Akele, has described the performances of the three senators representing Lagos State in the National Assembly as abysmal, saying they have failed to give Lagosians value for their votes.
In a chat with Daily Independent, Akele, a governorship candidate of NCP in 2011, said the trio of Oluremi Tinubu, Ganiyu Solomon and Gbenga Ashafa are mere bench warmers who are only interested in the largesse they are receiving as lawmakers.

Akele also took up the incumbent Lagos Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire, over her alleged senatorial ambition, saying she has nothing to offer Lagosians in the National Assembly.
“Somebody can’t just go to the Senate without antecedents. What is Tinubu’s wife antecedent, what is Ashafa’s antecedent? What are his records in the public service?
“When I was fighting for minimum wage, and I was illegally removed from service, Ashafa was there and never spoke against it. What is the antecedent of Ganiyu Solomon? I wanted to contest against Solomon and I know I will defeat him but we don’t have the resources”.
“I can see now that every Tom, Dick and Harry is collecting nomination form to go to Senate under All Progressives Congress (APC). APC and other political parties should be held responsible if this democracy is derailed,” he stated.
