12 political parties endorse Agbaje for Lagos gov race

Ahead of the general elections in 2015, 12 political parties have endorsed one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants, Jimi Agbaje, as the only candidate who could lead the people of Lagos out of political Ebola and slavery regime.
Speaking at the meeting held in Lagos with Eko Initiative, the parties’ chairmen and the coordinator of the forum, Mr. Sunbo Onitiri, insisted that Agbaje is the only person that can do better than Governor Babatunde Fashola.
The parties present at the meeting were National Conscience Party (NCP), Citizen Peoples Party (CPP), People For Democratic Change (PDC), Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP), Labour Party (LP), Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) and United Peoples Party (UPP) among others.
According to him, the party stands a great chance of winning the governorship election in the state if it fields Agbaje as candidate.

According to Onitiri, “We believe that Agbaje is the right person that can dismantle the bad government of over taxation and commercialisation in Lagos. He is the only candidate that can bring back industries and commerce to Lagos State, thereby creating more EMPLOYMENT opportunities for our teeming youths.
“Lagosians do not deserve any less. We are fully aware that Lagosians are sophisticated and well enlightened voters; all they want is a credible, honourable and competent candidate.
Gone are the days when political parties just impose any unpopular candidate on the electorate, this is an era that political parties must carefully and painstakingly listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate and adopt the peoples candidates so as to win.”
He insisted that the endorsement of Agbaje as its candidate was borne out of his credibility and political relevance in the state and vowed to facilitate PDP’s victory in the state in 2015.
He justified their endorsement of Jonathan on the giant strides recorded by his administration in all sectors of the country, saying; “We acknowledge the giant strides of Mr. President in the areas of education, agriculture, health, tourism, re-invention of the railway systems, roads and other infrastructural development across the country.”
He noted that the PDP at the national level was looking for over five million votes in Lagos, and, therefore, urged Lagosians to be actively involved in political activities.
Director of Administration and Logistics, Eko Initiative, Mr. Babatunde Shinaba, assured Lagosians that Agbaje was the only candidate that would ensure that all reaped the dividends of democracy.
“Let us not deceive ourselves; he is the man with the needed requisite to win Lagos for us. He is still as popular as he was seven years ago when he vied for the governorship slot and we all know he could have won if our election had been free and fair,” he noted.
