According to him, some of the delegates and other major stakeholders, who had pledged support for his aspiration, had listed his God fearing nature, long standing experience in politics, exposure and service at all levels of government as well as contributions to the economic development of the state as the basis for their support.
The former Minister said the politicians told him that having fought and defeated poverty in his life, they wanted him to replicate the feat for the entire state.
