Brad Pitt teaches audience how to pronounce actor’s name

While presenting an award to Nigerian born actor, David Oyelowo, Brad Pitt chose to sing his name to teach the audience how to correctly pronounce it.

 

In a recent interview with popular talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, Nigerian born British actor, David Oyelowocomplained about how difficult it is for people to pronounce his name.
The actor would have no such complains again after actor Brad Pitt on Saturday, January 4 offered a singalong lecturer to guests at the annual Palm Springs International Film Festival black tie gala.
Pitt who came on stage to present the Breakthrough Performance Award to Davido Oyelowo for his role as Martin Luther King in the movie, Selma took the opportunity to teach the audience how to pronounce the Nigerian name as he sang “Oyelowo” and urged the crowd to repeat after him. Brad Pitt is coincidentally the producer of the historical drama which has shot David Oyelowo into the limelight.
An excited Davido Oyelowo after picking up his award from Brad Pitt revealed how ecstatic he was that the famous actor was singing his name. “You know you have broken through when Brad Pitt sings your name,” the overwhelmed David Oyelowo said.
