Gambia's President reshuffles cabinet after coup attempt

The President of The Gambia, Yahya Jammehhas reshuffled his cabinet following a failed coup attempt in the nation.
The new appointments were announced via the state television channel late on Monday, January 5.
Former information minister, Neneh MacDouall-Gaye has been named as foreign affairs minister while Gaye’s former position was filled by Sheriff Bojang, the managing editor at The Standard newspaper. Foreign Minister, Bala Garba Jahumpa has also been reassigned to the transport ministry.
A coup was attempted in The Gambia on December 30, 2014, while Jammeh was out of the country but was foiled by guards at the Presidential Palace.
Meanwhile, Federal Prosecutors in the US have charged 2 US citizens of Gambian origin, Cherno Njie and Papa Faal, for their alleged roles in the attempted coup.
