DJ Tira was not the only one who had a bone to pick with the channel, hipsters like Zakwe and Cassper Nyovest were amongst the highly angered musicians over Duncan’s exclusion.
These fellow artists took their anger to Twitter, asking Sizwe Dlomo on how the Tsiki Tsiki singer was not on the top 10 list.
Zakwe said he finds the list upsetting. When he recalls that his friend made it to the Africa’s hottest MC list but in Mzansi he failed to crack the MTV’s selection of hot local rappers.

Take note: Power cuts will last all weekend

Power cuts are scheduled to take place throughout the weekend, Eskom said on Friday afternoon.

"Load shedding will recommence again tomorrow [Saturday] and Sunday at 9am in order to build up reserves for the week ahead," it said in a statement.
It said there were a number of reasons for the cuts that began on Friday afternoon.
"The power system is extremely constrained... due to unforeseen technical problems at power stations, depleted water reserves at our peaking power stations, which use water to generate electricity, and depleted diesel reserves to fire up the open-cycle gas turbines."

'You are a disgrace', Deputy speaker tells MPs

"You are a disgrace", National Assembly Deputy Speaker Lechesa Tsenoli told MPs on Friday, after shouting broke out across the House in the final minutes of a joint sitting debate on violence against women and children.

"You really are a disgrace, and it is despicable of you to be behaving like that, including yourself Chief Whip... you are a disgrace and completely out of order," he said.
The Chief Whip referred to was the Democratic Alliance's John Steenhuisen, who had risen 10 minutes earlier on a point of order, objecting to one of his party's MPs being referred to as a "finalist of Miss South Africa".
Steenhuisen also complained about Women in the Presidency Minister Susan Shabangu, who he claimed had shouted "You are mad!" Shabangu denied doing so.
Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom tried to lighten the mood by suggesting that even if a member was "unbalanced and not really completely sane, and not of sound mind", it was wrong to call them mad.

Akure—SOME dare-devil armed robbers, yesterday, ambushed and disarmed policemen escorting a bullion van, then carted away an unspecified amount of MONEY.
The body of the bullion van and the escort vehicles were riddled with bullets, while their tyres were deflated by bullets.
bullion-van-11Vanguard gathered that the incident occurred at about 4p.m. at Elemoso village in Ondo East council of Ondo State.
Beside the driver of the bullion van, who was seriously injured, the policemen escorting the van are yet to resurface from the bush they ran into when the robbers struck.
It was gathered that the bullion van was conveying an unspecified sum of MONEY from the branches of one of the old generation banks in Ondo town to their headquarters in Akure when the hoodlums struck.

Police arrested for aiding suspect's escape

Two policemen were arrested for helping a kidnapping suspect escape from custody, Gauteng police said on Friday.

The two police court orderlies were arrested on Thursday after the suspect escaped from the Protea Magistrate's Court were he was meant to appear, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
A 12-year-old boy was kidnapped two weeks ago in Lenasia and the suspect demanded ransom money from his parents.
The policemen, aged 46 and 48, would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Late reggae legend Bob Marley is to be the face of new cannabis brand Marley Natural, a company specialising in selling marijuana and related products.

The late reggae legend's family have struck a deal with private equity firm Privateer Holdings to launch Marley Natural, a new company that will offer ''heirloom Jamaican cannabis strains'' inspired by the marijuana smoked by the 'No Woman, No Cry' singer. Cedella Marley - Bob's daughter - insists the business is inspired by her father's belief the herbal drug was ''spiritual'' and could ''deepen our reflection''.
Speaking about the business, said: ''My dad would be so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb. He viewed the herb as something spiritual that could awaken our well-being, deepen our reflection, connect us to nature and liberate our creativity ... It is an authentic way to honour his legacy by adding his voice to the conversation about cannabis and helping end the social harms caused by prohibition.''
