Apparently hoping that the primaries of the ruling People’s Democratic Party for various elective positions might throw up challenges that could lead to defections, the Labour Party in the state has offered to provide a credible alternative platform.
Chairman of the party, Mr. Austine Ibok, who made this allusion on Tuesday in Calabar at the maiden meeting of the State Working Committee, promised to provide a credible alternative for aspirants to various political offices in the state in the 2015 general elections.
The chairman however, said that it would only accept aspirants with the capacity to work for the people.
According to him, the party has concluded plans to embark on massive sensitization of the electorate across the 18 local government areas of the state.
