1. Introduction
Since
the advent of democracy in Nigeria, we have seen a troubling shift away from
traditional occupations such as agriculture and craftsmanship. Instead, the
political elite have asserted dominance over the country’s natural resources,
particularly crude oil, which has led to significant mismanagement and
corruption. This has resulted in a myriad of socio-economic issues that plague
the nation today.
